Purchasing popular Japanese delicacies such as sushi and rolls from unofficial outlets or through private Instagram accounts poses a direct risk of ending up in a hospital bed, according to the Committee for Sanitary and Epidemiological Control. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Kursiv Media.

Kazakhstan's sanitary doctors warn that using raw materials of unknown origin, ignoring temperature regimes, and the absence of health certificates for cooks make such products dangerous to health.

The Committee advises taking certain precautions when buying sushi and rolls.

"Sushi is a product of high epidemiological risk, as its preparation involves raw, lightly salted, or marinated fish, seafood, and other perishable products that often do not undergo heat treatment," the statement said.

If the technological process or storage conditions are violated, the product can cause food poisoning, acute intestinal infections, and even parasitic diseases.

The greatest danger is that cases of private individuals selling these products via social networks without any permits have become more frequent. Therefore, the Committee strongly recommends being very scrupulous about personal safety.

Epidemiologists advise buying sushi and rolls only from officially registered public catering establishments, as they comply with established sanitary requirements and storage conditions.

Sanitary doctors emphasize that pregnant women, the elderly, and children should be especially cautious when purchasing such products, as the consequences of consuming low-quality products can be more severe for these groups.
