In Stepnogorsk, 2.5 million tenge was returned for illegally provided dental services to children, the Prosecutor General's Office reported. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Sputnik Kazakhstan.

The prosecutor's office of Stepnogorsk identified facts of medical services being provided to minors without the appropriate specialist certificate.

In particular, a dentist at a branch of Viamedis LLP provided medical care to children without the appropriate specialist certificate granting the right to provide medical services.

"It was established that the said doctor provided medical services to 345 minor patients, while the services rendered were paid for from the funds of compulsory social health insurance. The total amount of unjustifiably paid medical services amounted to 2,569,792 tenge," the statement said.

Providing medical care to children without the necessary permits endangered their health and violated their right to receive quality and qualified medical care.

As a result of prosecutorial supervision, 2,569,792 tenge was returned to the state.
