Police in Stepnogorsk have detained a man suspected of stealing his ex-wife's car. According to police, the intoxicated man remembered that he still had the keys to his ex-wife's car, assumed it was parked in its usual spot, went to the parking lot, and drove off without the owner's permission. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Kursiv Media.
After some time, the woman filed a theft report with the police.
During the investigation, it was discovered that the suspect had crashed the stolen car and then fled the scene of the accident.
Police officers located the man, detained him, and brought him to the police station.
"A pre-trial investigation is being conducted into this incident. The circumstances of the incident are being established," the department reported.
Earlier, Kursiv reported how a drunk resident of Pavlodar stole a police car and crashed it. Before that, the man had robbed a local store.
Another car theft was solved in just a couple of hours in Turkestan. The perpetrator stole a car from a female journalist. And recently, a resident of the West Kazakhstan region stole a tractor from a field to escape from the police.
