The main construction work on the reconstructed 30.2 km section of the republican highway "Astana – Kokshetau – Petropavlovsk – RF border" has been completed, and traffic has been opened. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Sputnik Kazakhstan.

The reconstruction was carried out on the section between kilometers 465 and 496. This road of the II technical category is considered one of the important transport routes of the North Kazakhstan region.

"It provides intra-regional connectivity and also plays an important role in international transit transportation. This highway is one of the important transit routes connecting Kazakhstan and the Russian Federation. It ensures cargo and passenger transportation between the industrial centers of the two countries," said KazAvtoZhol.

In 2015, the average daily traffic intensity on this section was 2,793 vehicles, while today an average of 5,034 vehicles pass per day. That is, the traffic flow has increased by more than 80%.
