In the Yesil district of the North Kazakhstan region, strong winds toppled an emergency water tower in the village of Enbek. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Kursiv Media.

According to residents, the structure, built about 15 years ago, had been in an emergency condition for a long time and had not actually been working since last year. Villagers claim they repeatedly appealed to local authorities for repairs, but the problem remained unresolved.

As a result, according to eyewitnesses, the multi-ton tower collapsed due to strong gusts of wind. No casualties were reported.

The akimat of the Yesil district confirmed the collapse. According to local authorities, the incident occurred at noon on June 25 due to a sharp deterioration in weather conditions and side winds. The akimat also reported that the supply of drinking water to the population did not stop and is provided as usual — water comes through the main water pipeline Yesilskoye — Yavlenka.

After the incident, the village's water supply was switched to a backup scheme.

Earlier, Kursiv reported that in Aktobe, a strong storm wind toppled trees, damaged property, and caused power outages.
