In the North Kazakhstan region, the area under winter crops has quadrupled, reaching 11.4 thousand hectares. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Sputnik Kazakhstan.
Agriculture Minister Aidarbek Saparov familiarized himself with the progress of preparations for the harvest campaign in the North Kazakhstan region. This region is one of the leading agricultural regions of the country and the main grain-producing area.
For the second consecutive year, the region has seen an increase in the acreage of oilseed crops. This year, they reached 1.3 million hectares, the highest figure in the republic.
Harvesting of winter crops continues
Compared to last year, the area under winter crops has quadrupled, reaching 11.4 thousand hectares. Currently, 7.2 thousand hectares, or 64% of the total area, have been harvested.
In addition, farmers have begun harvesting spring crops such as lentils, peas, wheat, barley, and oats.
Equipment readiness
The region is fully equipped for the harvest campaign. The machine and tractor fleet includes 6.6 thousand grain harvesters, including 4 thousand high-performance machines, 10.3 thousand tractors, 4.3 thousand headers, and other agricultural machinery.
