Accountants of the akimats of Bulak and Zarechny rural districts in North Kazakhstan region embezzled budget funds, the regional prosecutor's office reports. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Sputnik Kazakhstan.
According to the investigation, they illegally transferred budget funds to their own accounts and entered false information into accounting documents. As a result, 9.3 million tenge was embezzled in Bulak rural district and 17.8 million tenge in Zarechny rural district.
The court found the accountants guilty and passed a conviction. They were placed under probation supervision and sentenced to conditional imprisonment for a long term. In addition, the convicted persons were deprived of the right to hold accounting positions and positions with material responsibility for 4 and 5 years, respectively, the prosecutor's office of North Kazakhstan region reported.
