A ferry with 279 people on board has suffered an accident off the coast of Northern Cyprus. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Sputnik Kazakhstan.
According to local media, the vessel is sinking at a distance of 2-2.5 km from the shore. For unknown reasons, water began entering through the bow of the ship.
The captain changed course towards the port, but the ship capsized. A search and rescue operation is currently underway.
