1.2 billion cubic meters of water have been released into the Northern Aral Sea. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Sputnik Kazakhstan.
Work on supplying water to the northern part of the Aral Sea has been carried out. This measure is aimed at raising the sea level and improving the ecological situation.
According to experts, this volume will allow restoring the hydrological regime of the reservoir. The work is being carried out in accordance with the approved plan.
It should be noted that the northern part of the Aral Sea is located on the territory of Kazakhstan. In recent years, several projects have been implemented to restore it.
