Slovakia is ready to hold technical consultations on resolving the situation in Ukraine at any time, Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico said. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Sputnik Kazakhstan.
Slovak Foreign Minister Juraj Blanar had earlier said that during talks in Moscow on October 26, Bratislava offered itself as a venue for preparatory negotiations on a low-level settlement of the situation in Ukraine.
"If you think that you need to meet at any time in Bratislava, Banska Bystrica, Kosice or anywhere at three in the morning, call, we will organize it immediately," Fico said on Thursday at a press conference following a joint meeting of the Slovak and Ukrainian cabinets in Lviv.
He clarified that this could be "some kind of technical negotiations that can help."
Earlier, Russian President Vladimir Putin has repeatedly stated that Russia wants the conflict in Ukraine to end peacefully as soon as possible. He said Moscow is ready for negotiations, but the Kyiv regime does not show such intention.
US President Donald Trump also expressed dissatisfaction with Vladimir Zelensky's reluctance to reach a peace agreement, saying that he had never achieved an agreement. Trump also said that Ukraine needs a new leader who can negotiate with Russia.
