In Kazakhstan, thanks to screening examinations, breast cancer was detected at an early stage in more than 17,000 women. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Sputnik Kazakhstan.

According to the Ministry of Health, breast cancer remains the most common oncological disease among Kazakh women. In 2025, 5,743 new cases of the disease were registered.

Since 2008, a national screening program has been implemented in the country. Over this period, 19,018 cases of breast cancer have been detected. Of these, 17,186 were registered at stages I and II.

During screening, the number of cases detected at stages III–IV decreased from 66 in 2011 to 16 in 2025.

Women aged 40 to 76 can undergo free mammographic screening once every two years at their registered polyclinic. This examination allows detecting changes in the mammary glands before symptoms of the disease appear.

As part of the "Pink October" campaign, open days and free consultations with oncologist-mammologists are being organized in all regions of the country. In 2025, more than 8,400 women underwent examination. Various pathologies of the mammary glands were detected in 3,337 of them, and breast cancer was registered in 144 women.

On October 31, an open day will be held at the Kazakh Research Institute of Oncology and Radiology. During the event, women will be able to receive a free consultation with an oncologist-mammologist.
