In the North Kazakhstan region, a drunk man attacked a district police inspector with a knife in a service car. The incident occurred in late July in the Kyzylzhar district between the villages of Lebedki and Nalobino. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Kursiv Media.
According to the publication, the policeman was taking a man who was intoxicated in a public place for a medical examination. During the trip, the offender took out a knife and attacked the district officer.
The policeman received a cut wound, but managed to knock the knife out of the man's hand and stop the car.
"The district police inspector received a cut wound while delivering a drunk offender to the police department, who attacked a policeman in a service car. A criminal case has been opened on this fact. The suspect was detained and placed in a temporary detention facility," the press service of the police department of the North Kazakhstan region reported.
The criminal case was opened under Part 5 of Article 380 of the Criminal Code - threat or violent actions against a representative of authority. For the use of violence dangerous to the life or health of a police officer in the performance of official duties, punishment of seven to 12 years in prison is provided.
The police added that after receiving the necessary medical care and recovery, the district inspector returned to duty.
Earlier, Kursiv wrote that in Almaty, police launched an investigation after an attack on a group of children near the Atakent exhibition complex. According to the mother of one of the victims, a man hit a 10-year-old boy in the face and threatened the children with violence. The suspect was detained and taken to the police, the circumstances of the incident are being established.
