Doctors in Shymkent removed a foreign object weighing about 1 kg from a teenager's stomach. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Sputnik Kazakhstan.
The teenager, born in 2011, was brought to the hospital by an ambulance team on July 30 at 01:12. The patient complained of abdominal pain, decreased appetite, and general weakness.
In the admission department, on-duty surgeons examined him and conducted necessary tests. The examination revealed a large foreign object in his stomach.
During surgery, doctors removed a trichobezoar (a mass formed from hair and other densely packed foreign materials) from the teenager's stomach. It weighed about 1 kg and was 30 centimeters long.
