A man has been detained in Shymkent on suspicion of committing unlawful acts against minors. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Sputnik Kazakhstan.
According to Polisia.kz, the man met children aged 10 to 12 through internet messengers, presenting himself as a 14-year-old teenager.
He gained their trust and continued communicating with them online. According to police, in one such case the man met a girl through an online game, obtained her phone number and communicated with her on WhatsApp.
"During the conversation, under various pretexts, he asked the teenager to send photos and video recordings of an intimate nature," police said.
As a result of operational search measures, a city resident was detained. The suspect was placed in a temporary detention facility.
A pre-trial investigation is currently underway.
