The investigation into the organization of illegal gambling business through the Bingo-37 and Lotoboom online platforms in Shymkent has been completed. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Sputnik Kazakhstan.
According to the Financial Monitoring Agency, offers to participate in gambling were sent to potential players via the WhatsApp messenger.
"Accounts were opened for those who applied, logins and passwords were issued, and account details for money transfers were sent. Bank accounts opened in the names of 14 droppers were used to receive money and pay out winnings," the statement said.
The total turnover of the two online casinos amounted to 3.1 billion tenge. The organizers purchased property worth more than 200 million tenge using criminally obtained income. This includes vehicles of the brands BYD Destroyer, LiXiang L6 Max, Chevrolet Monza, SsangYong Rexton, as well as two land plots.
By court verdict, two people were deprived of liberty for four years. The said property was confiscated to the state revenue. The verdict has not entered into legal force.
