A man in Shymkent who used obscene words on social media has been arrested for 10 days. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Sputnik Kazakhstan.

According to the Ministry of Internal Affairs, law enforcement officers regularly monitor social networks. During the next check, it was found that 39-year-old resident Kuanyshbek Umarkbekov used profanity during a live broadcast on TikTok, violating public order.

The police reported that for this offense the man was placed under administrative arrest for 10 days. The police remind that live broadcasts and other publications on social networks must comply with legal requirements.

"For likes, views or popularity, violating public order, committing indecent acts and distributing illegal content entails liability established by law," police said.

The ministry recalled that the law applies equally to everyone, including in the digital space.
