An 18-year-old girl was injured in a crush at a Kairat Nurtas concert in Shymkent and was taken to hospital in serious condition. Police have opened a criminal case and detained the concert organizers. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Kursiv Media.
The Shymkent city health department said that during the Kairat Nurtas concert at the Kazhimukan Munaitpasov stadium, eight spectators sought medical help. Seven of them were sent home without hospitalization.
"One 18-year-old girl was injured and taken to hospital. Her condition as of the morning is assessed as stable but serious, with some improvement. She is receiving the necessary medical care and is under the supervision of specialists," the city health department said.
Shymkent police also confirmed that due to a large crowd at the concert, one of the spectators was injured and taken to hospital. A criminal case has been opened over the organization of the concert without compliance with the relevant safety requirements.
The organizers of the event were taken to the police. Law enforcement officers are establishing all the circumstances of the incident. Based on the results of the investigation, appropriate procedural decisions will be made.
