In Shymkent, two organizers of illegal online casinos "Bingo-37" and "Lotoboom" were sentenced to four years in prison. The total turnover of the platforms amounted to 3.1 billion tenge. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Kursiv Media.

Investigation details

According to the Agency for Financial Monitoring (AFM), players were attracted through WhatsApp by sending offers to participate in gambling. Those interested were given accounts, logins and passwords, as well as bank details for topping up gaming accounts.

To receive money and pay out winnings, the organizers used accounts opened in the names of 14 droppers.

Confiscated property

According to the AFM, property worth more than 200 million tenge was purchased with criminal proceeds: BYD Destroyer, LiXiang L6 Max, Chevrolet Monza and SsangYong Rexton cars, as well as two land plots.

By court verdict, this property was confiscated to the state revenue. The verdict has not entered into legal force.
