As reported, the trial was held behind closed doors. The girl's mother participated in the hearing online. She expected a harsh sentence for the man for molesting a child. But the defendant asked for leniency and received a fine of 216 thousand tenge and was released. Such punishment shocked everyone.
Recall that surveillance camera footage was posted online. The footage shows the 56-year-old man openly touching the child, kissing her, and trying to take her to his home. However, the girl managed to break free and run away.
According to media reports, the imposition of a fine instead of a real prison sentence is explained by the fact that his actions were classified as "other sexual acts without violence."
Earlier, Kursiv reported that an investigation had been launched in Astana into the abduction of a boy from a yard. The incident occurred on June 5 in the Almaty district of Astana near secondary school No. 13. A 56-year-old man attempted to kidnap a child from the yard to commit violent acts.
