In Shymkent, a 25-year-old resident of Turkestan region was detained on suspicion of brutally beating his wife in front of their children. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Kursiv Media.
The incident occurred on the night of September 16, 2026.
After a video showing the injured woman's bloodied face was published on social media, police responded promptly.
Earlier, Telegram channels circulated a video of the beaten woman with a bloodied face. The woman stated that her husband beat her and insulted her in front of the children. In addition, according to her, the man took out a loan in her name for approximately 2 million tenge and after the incident threatened her with reprisal.
Shymkent police reported that they had already identified and detained the attacker. He is currently in a temporary detention center (IVS).
A criminal case has been opened based on the victim's statement. The course of the investigation is under the personal control of the city police department's leadership.
