Officers of the transport police department at Shymkent station have identified five minors who damaged the window of a passenger train running on the Tashkent–Almaty route. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Sputnik Kazakhstan.
The incident occurred on the Badam–Igilik railway section. Unknown individuals damaged the outer glass of a train carriage.
During urgent search operations, transport police identified five residents of Badam station aged 8, 9 and 10.
This was stated by Eskendir Baimurzaev, deputy head of the transport police department at Shymkent station. According to him, the children admitted their involvement in the incident.
For failing to properly fulfil their duties to raise and ensure the safety of minors, their parents were held liable. By a court decision, each parent was fined.
“Damaging train windows is not just hooliganism, but a real threat to the safety of passengers and railway workers. A single thrown object can lead to a person being injured,” said Eskendir Baimurzaev.
Since the beginning of the year, 1,777 people have been held liable for crossing the railway at undesignated locations. In addition, 9 cases related to smashing train windows have been recorded.
