A 42-year-old woman in Shymkent had acid thrown on her face by her ex-husband. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Sputnik Kazakhstan.

The incident occurred on August 2. The victim's mother, Nigara Murzatova, told a Sputnik Kazakhstan correspondent about the details. According to her, her daughter Guzal was married for the second time, met this man in 2019, and gave birth to a daughter from him.

According to Nigara Murzatova, within six months after giving birth, Guzal became very depressed and constantly in a bad mood. The reason was that her husband took out a loan of one million tenge in her name. Then the son-in-law came to her and said, "Give me 300 thousand tenge, I'll buy a car." After receiving the money, he disappeared. The man did not show up for 5 years, but he indicated his salary as 80 thousand tenge, while paying only 10 thousand tenge.

At the end of July, the husband came to Guzal's workplace and caused a scandal. He demanded a notarized waiver of alimony. The daughter replied, "I don't need anything from anyone, stay away from us." It turned out that he was again trying to get a loan in her name.

The man stalked the woman for two days. He bought a ticket to Almaty in advance and wrote a message from an unknown number at night. "My daughter works at a hair salon. He wrote to her around 3 a.m.: 'Can you do sugaring for me?' When my daughter asked, 'Why are you writing at night, my work starts at a busy time,' he replied that he was traveling in the morning and needed to catch a plane," says the mother.

Thus, he deceived Guzal into going outside at night. Hiding, he threw acid on her face. "My daughter screamed and called for help. People from nearby houses heard and ran to help. My daughter shouted, 'Water, give me water!' They brought a five-liter bottle of water and poured it on her face, then called an ambulance," says the mother.

The suspect fled to Almaty and covered his tracks. According to the mother, the man had two wives before Guzal, who barely escaped from him. "His parents are dead. When my daughter was marrying him, his brother's wife warned, 'I don't approve of your choice.' He has three children from previous wives," says Nigara Murzatova.

Currently, the woman is in serious condition and needs several surgeries. The police reported that the suspect was detained. "On August 2, a resident of Shymkent was hospitalized with bodily injuries. It was established that her ex-husband lured her to a meeting by deception, poured liquid on her, and fled the scene. The police department opened a criminal case," said the Shymkent city police department. The investigation is under the control of the police department leadership.
