In Shymkent, the mother of an 8-year-old girl expressed disagreement with the sentence given to a neighbor who attempted to sexually assault her daughter. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Sputnik Kazakhstan.
The incident occurred in September 2025. The 8-year-old girl was playing in the yard of her home when a neighbor called her to his house and attempted to commit sexual violence. The girl's screams alerted neighbors, who detained the suspect and called the police.
The court sentenced the suspect to 10 years in prison. However, the girl's mother considers this sentence too lenient. She stated that she disagrees with the court's decision and will file an appeal.
"My daughter has suffered psychological trauma for life. And the guilty person will serve only 10 years. This is unfair," the mother said.
Currently, the girl is receiving psychological help. Investigative actions in the case continue.
