A passenger who made an inappropriate joke at Shymkent airport has been arrested for five days. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Sputnik Kazakhstan.
The incident occurred on September 21 at Shymkent airport. While checking in for a flight on the Shymkent–Astana route, a drunk man said that his luggage contained an explosive substance.
Airline representatives removed the passenger from the flight and handed him over to transport police officers. During the check, his claim was not confirmed.
No explosive device was found in the passenger's luggage. No evacuation was carried out at the airport.
The man was held liable for being in a public place in a state of alcohol intoxication and for petty hooliganism. By court decision, he was arrested for 5 days.
