Residents of the village of Ulken-Naryn in the East Kazakhstan region felt an earthquake with a magnitude of 2. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Sputnik Kazakhstan.
The network of seismic stations of the National Scientific Center for Seismological Observations and Research of the Ministry of Emergency Situations recorded the earthquake on September 6 at 23:08 local time.
"The epicenter of the earthquake is located on the territory of Kazakhstan, 875 kilometers northeast of Almaty," the Ministry of Emergency Situations reported.
After the earthquake, specialists from Kazselezashchita inspected river channels, hydraulic structures, as well as areas at risk of landslides and mudflows. In addition, experts conducted a visual inspection of important infrastructure facilities to identify possible damage.
"During the inspection, no damage was detected, the facilities are operating normally," the statement said.
No information about casualties has been received. The situation is stable.
