Unauthorized solid waste dumps were discovered in the villages of Menovnoye and Ablaketka in the East Kazakhstan Region. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Polisia.kz.

The inspection was carried out as part of the republican environmental campaign "Taza Kazakhstan". It was conducted by officers of the East Kazakhstan Region Police Department together with the Specialized Environmental Prosecutor's Office of the region.

During the inspection of the territories of Menovnoye and Ablaketka, facts of unauthorized dumps were established. The police noted that such waste negatively affects the sanitary condition and environmental situation of the region.

Based on the results of the work, a submission was made to the local executive body to eliminate the causes and conditions that contribute to offenses in the field of improvement and environmental protection.

"The Police Department of the East Kazakhstan Region reminds that compliance with environmental requirements and maintaining cleanliness are the duty of every citizen," the department reported.

The police added that work to identify and suppress environmental offenses will continue on an ongoing basis together with interested state bodies.

Earlier, Kursiv reported that 99 sites of unauthorized dumps have been identified in Astana to date. Of these, 55 have already been eliminated, and work continues on another 44 sites.
