A married couple died in a fire in the village of Uvarovo, Glubokoye district, East Kazakhstan region. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Sputnik Kazakhstan.
Before the arrival of firefighting units, the homeowner, born in 1948, managed to get out of the house on his own but suffered from smoke poisoning. Doctors from the emergency medical center performed resuscitation measures but could not save the man.
During firefighting, emergency services found the body of the homeowner's wife, born in 1953. The fire was completely extinguished over an area of 80 square meters. The cause of the fire is being investigated.
According to information circulating online, the deceased pensioners were raising two granddaughters aged 19 and 17 who had lost their parents. The girls were not at home during the fire.
