A company in the East Kazakhstan region has been fined more than 100 mln tenge for violating environmental legislation. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Sputnik Kazakhstan.
According to the Prosecutor General's Office, an analysis revealed prolonged inaction by Vostoktsvetmet LLP in eliminating the consequences of subsoil use at the Yubileyno-Snegirikhinskoye deposit in the Glubokoye district.
Following an act of prosecutorial supervision, the Ecology Department for the East Kazakhstan region conducted an unscheduled inspection of the company.
Administrative liability
As a result, the LLP was held administratively liable under Part 1 of Article 328 of the Administrative Offenses Code of Kazakhstan (exceeding technological standards for emissions into the environment) and fined more than 100 mln tenge.
The company was also issued an order to eliminate the consequences of subsoil use and to ensure systematic control over the implementation of environmental protection measures.
Compliance with environmental legislation is under the constant supervision of prosecutorial bodies, the agency said.
