One of the most complex and large-scale bridge projects in the region has been built in the East Kazakhstan region — a bridge over the Pikhtovka River. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Sputnik Kazakhstan.
KazAvtoZhol National Company JSC has completed the main stage of construction of the bridge over the Pikhtovka River on the route to the Rakhman Springs. The decisive moment of the construction was the installation of the final, seventh span structure of the bridge.
Thus, the new bridge has fully connected the two banks of a deep mountain gorge.
Technical specifications of the bridge
"The 175-metre-long bridge is located at a height of up to 45 metres above the terrain. The structure consists of seven spans, each 24 metres long, and eight supports. Two of them are bank supports, six are intermediate supports," the statement says.
Today, all eight supports have been fully erected, and the installation of seven span structures has been completed.
Construction progress
About 150 specialists, special construction equipment and machinery worked at the site. To ensure continuous concrete work, a mobile concrete plant was launched at the construction site.
The bridge over the Pikhtovka River is of particular importance for East Kazakhstan. The giant structure, whose height is comparable to a multi-storey building, was erected where several years ago the difficult mountain terrain significantly limited road communication.
The new bridge is not only an important infrastructure facility, but also a facility demonstrating the ability of the domestic road industry to implement large-scale engineering projects in difficult natural conditions, the company says.
