Canada pulled one back late in the game through Promise David in the 76th minute, but could not avoid defeat.
Despite the loss, Canada remained second in Group B with four points, level with Bosnia and Herzegovina but ahead on goal difference.
Switzerland finished top of the group with seven points. Canada came second, Bosnia and Herzegovina third after beating Qatar, and Qatar last with one point.
Switzerland and Canada advanced directly to the playoffs. Bosnia must now wait for results from other groups to see if four points are enough to qualify for the round of 16 as one of the best third-placed teams.
