The Central Election Commission of the Republic of Kazakhstan is actively preparing for the upcoming elections to the Kurultai. Deputy Chairman of the CEC Mukhtar Yerman announced official data on the accreditation of international observers who will monitor the voting process and assess the transparency of the electoral process. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Kursiv Media.
According to the Deputy Chairman, currently accreditation is being requested and received by representatives of major inter-parliamentary institutions as well as diplomatic missions of individual European and Asian states.
The main core of observers from international organizations currently consists of parliamentary assemblies:
- 01Inter-Parliamentary Assembly of the Commonwealth of Independent States
- 02Parliamentary Assembly of the Collective Security Treaty Organization
- 03Office for Democratic Institutions and Human Rights of the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe
- 04Shanghai Cooperation Organization
- 05Parliamentary Assembly of Turkic States
In addition to global observer missions, the CEC has registered representatives of four foreign states that have expressed readiness to monitor the voting process:
- 01Sweden
- 02Iran
- 03China
- 04Kyrgyzstan
As Mukhtar Yerman emphasized, the presence of representatives from such diverse regions — from Central Asia and the Middle East to Scandinavia — guarantees comprehensive and objective monitoring of compliance with citizens' electoral rights and national legislation.
