The Ministry of Emergency Situations of Kazakhstan reported that a forest fire in the Ulan district at the "Ayuda" tract has been localized. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Kursiv Media.
The preliminary area of the fire was 13 hectares. Forces and resources of the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources, the Department of Emergency Situations, paratroopers of Kazavialesookhrana, and two helicopters of Kazaviaspas JSC of the Ministry of Emergency Situations were involved in extinguishing.
"The measures taken made it possible to localize the main sources of fire and prevent the spread of fire to a significant area," the ministry's statement said.
Earlier, Kursiv reported that efforts were being made to localize a forest fire in East Kazakhstan. For this purpose, the Ministry of Emergency Situations aviation performed 13 water drops with a total volume of 39 tons.
Work on fire prevention and extinguishing continues. The Ministry of Emergency Situations urges compliance with fire safety rules.
