In the village of Bobrovka in the Glubokoye district of East Kazakhstan Region, a mother and two young children died in a fire. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Sputnik Kazakhstan.

A Sputnik Kazakhstan correspondent learned how the incident occurred from the relatives of the deceased. The woman who died was 27 years old, and her name was Svetlana. One of the children who died in the fire was 1 year old, and the other was 2.5 years old.

The incident occurred on the morning of 14 October.

What the relatives say

"The house they lived in was old. My sister came home from work and was going to light the stove and cook food. It is unknown what caused the fire; firefighters said the stove was not lit on the day of the incident," says Nikita, the brother of the deceased woman.

Svetlana worked as a milkmaid, and her husband herded livestock.

"Neighbours saw that it was burning and called the firefighters. They brought out the bodies of my sister and my nephews," the young man says.

What the village administration says

The village administration says the family moved to Bobrovka six months ago.

"The family was not registered and did not really follow a healthy lifestyle. We went and checked every month and held conversations. At the time of the incident, the husband had not come home for 3-4 days. The woman invited a friend to stay overnight, and the two of them drank alcohol. The friend herself said this," the administration says.

The village administration is now organising the funeral for the deceased.

Information from rescuers

"Fire brigades arrived at the scene immediately. When they arrived, the residential building was completely engulfed in flames and the roof had collapsed. During the firefighting, the bodies of the woman and two minors were found," the regional emergency situations department says.

The fire reduced 63 square metres to ashes.
