The prosecutor's office of Akmola region found that in Shchuchinsk, people with disabilities were restricted in using 'Invataxi' by time, although such requirements are not in the rules. After the inspection, the arbitrary limit was lifted. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Kursiv Media.
As reported by the press service of the General Prosecutor's Office, earlier residents of the city complained about the conditions of transportation.
"The inspection showed that during public procurement, a limit of machine hours for each recipient of the service was included in the technical specification. However, the current rules do not provide for such restrictions. In addition, the customer did not determine the operating mode of 'Invataxi' at night, as well as on weekends and holidays. This limited equal access of people with disabilities to transport services," the agency explained.
After the intervention of the prosecutor's office, the technical specification was changed. The provisions on limiting the number of hours for each recipient were also excluded from the public procurement contract.
As a result, the rights of 31 people with disabilities, including 25 children, were restored.
