In the Akmola region, 36-year-old Asem Shabelskaya died at the hands of her former lover. Relatives say he beat her for hours in a rented apartment. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Kursiv Media.

According to KTK TV channel, the former lovers met at work. According to the victim's sister, Bakyt Suyundykova, the man repeatedly assaulted Asem, once even attacking her with a hammer. The case reached an administrative court, but Asem decided to forgive him. Later, she blocked him on social media and changed jobs. However, a week ago, they started communicating again. The man invited her to his rented apartment. Asem never left.

"There are so many injuries on my sister's face and body. All internal organs are beaten. Is this death by negligence? He beat her all night," said the victim's sister, Bakyt Suyundykova.

Asem leaves behind two sons, who had already lost their father four years ago.

According to the victim's relatives, the man does not admit guilt and claims that the woman allegedly fell and hit a radiator. They say he told the same version to the ambulance doctors he called himself.

The 34-year-old suspect has been detained. A criminal case has been opened under the article "Intentional infliction of grievous bodily harm resulting in death."

"It has been preliminarily established that the man inflicted bodily injuries from which the woman subsequently died. Currently, the suspect is detained and in custody," clarified Asem Abdrakhmanova, senior inspector for special assignments of the Akmola region police department.

However, the qualification of the crime outrages the victim's relatives. They insist it was a brutal murder and demand the harshest punishment for the man who left two young children without a mother.

Earlier, Kursiv reported on the murder of former Kazakh judge Aigul Sailybayeva in Germany and new details in her case. Journalist Ksenia Sobchak released an investigation in which the victim's parents and the family's lawyer first revealed the terrible conclusions of the German forensic examination and previously unknown evidence against her husband and mother-in-law.
