More than 1,500 IT specialists from abroad have applied to reside in Kazakhstan under the Digital Nomad Visa Residency program. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Sputnik Kazakhstan.
This was announced by Prime Minister Olzhas Bektenov. Today the head of government took part in the plenary session of the international technology forum AI & Digital Bridge 2026.
According to him, Kazakhstan is currently creating comprehensive conditions to attract investment, technology and highly qualified specialists.
Legal framework and digital rights
Bektenov noted that Kazakhstan has already formed the necessary legal framework for the widespread adoption of artificial intelligence.

For the first time, citizens' digital rights have been enshrined at the constitutional level. The Digital Code and the Law "On Artificial Intelligence" have been adopted, and the "Digital Kazakhstan" Strategy is being implemented," Bektenov said.
As a result, the number of specialists wishing to come from abroad is also growing.
More than 1,500 applications from 30 countries
"Today, under the Digital Nomad Visa Residency program, more than 1,500 applications have been received from IT specialists from 30 countries around the world," the prime minister said.
A "Golden Visa" program has also been launched for strategic investors.
It is worth noting that under the Digital Nomad Visa Residency program, permission for permanent residence in Kazakhstan is granted under a simplified procedure.
