Prosecutor General Berik Asylov stated that the working methods of law enforcement agencies are changing, moving from responding to crimes to preventing threats. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Sputnik Kazakhstan.
In cooperation with the Ministry of Internal Affairs and regional akimats, using artificial intelligence and unmanned technologies, more than 360 dangerous locations with a high probability of criminal attacks on citizens were identified.
In these places, police patrols were strengthened, about 4 thousand new lighting points and more than 3.5 thousand video surveillance cameras were installed.
According to the results of the first half of the year, the crime rate in the country decreased by 11%. Murders, robberies, muggings, extortion, thefts, and street crimes decreased, Asylov wrote on his social media page.
The Cybernadzor system blocked 10 thousand materials with signs of drug propaganda, including more than 6 thousand drug shops.
According to the Prosecutor General, for the first time in recent years, it was possible to reverse the upward trend in online fraud - their number decreased by 9%.
"Through the joint efforts of law enforcement agencies and Kazakhtelecom JSC, more than a million suspicious calls were stopped, and the activities of 12 fraudulent call centers located abroad were exposed," said Berik Asylov.
Additionally, through the National Bank's Antifraud Center, fraudulent transactions worth more than 2.9 billion tenge were blocked.
