Kazakh judoka Sherzod Davlatov became a silver medalist at the adult World Championships in Baku. In the final of the under-60 kg weight category, he lost to Azerbaijan's Ahmed Yusifov. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Kursiv Media.

On his way to the decisive bout, Davlatov secured five victories. In the semifinal, he defeated Japan's Ryuzu Nagayama — a world champion and bronze medalist at the Paris Olympics. In the quarterfinal, the Kazakh athlete beat the silver medalist of the world championship, France's Romain Valadier-Picard.
