More than a thousand cases of illegal transportation of goods and cargo across the state border of Kazakhstan have been recorded. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Sputnik Kazakhstan.
According to the National Security Committee, about six thousand people violated Kazakhstan's legislation in the border area, including 4,907 foreign citizens.
2,089 cases of illegal transportation of goods and cargo across the state border were prevented, including:
- 0130 cases – narcotic substances;
- 0268 cases – weapons and ammunition (5 pneumatic weapons, 130 cold weapons, 228 ammunition);
- 031,061 cases – fuel and lubricants exceeding 159 tons;
- 04751 cases – consumer goods worth over 1.8 billion tenge;
- 05179 cases – foreign currency worth approximately 1.5 billion tenge.
Additionally, 61 cases of poaching in the Caspian Sea area were stopped, with poaching tools and sturgeon fish confiscated.
"The prevented damage amounted to more than 561 million tenge," the statement said.
In connection with the identified violations, 63 criminal cases have been initiated and investigative measures are underway. Also, 4,886 administrative cases are in progress with fines totaling over 40 million tenge.
