The Border Service of the National Security Committee has published its results for September. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Sputnik Kazakhstan.

In the border area, 4,138 people were detained for violating Kazakhstan's legislation, including 3,502 foreign citizens.

In addition, 1,598 cases of illegal movement of goods and cargo across the border worth 2.5 billion tenge were prevented, including:

  • 0137 cases — narcotic substances;
  • 0262 cases — weapons and ammunition (2 traumatic weapons, 2 gas weapons, 77 ammunition items);
  • 03816 cases — fuel and lubricants exceeding 80 tonnes, totaling 24.1 million tenge;
  • 04549 cases — consumer goods worth more than 1.3 billion tenge;
  • 05134 cases — currency worth more than 1.2 billion tenge.

In the Caspian Sea waters, 48 cases of poaching were prevented, 41.7 km of poaching gear was seized, as well as 145 items (840 kg) of sturgeon fish.

The amount of prevented damage exceeded 350 million tenge. Within its competence, the Border Service opened 66 criminal cases, and investigative measures are underway.

Also, 3,607 administrative cases with fines totaling more than 34 million tenge are in proceedings, the committee says.
