The National Security Committee of Kazakhstan (KNB) has identified 551 cases of illegal transportation of goods and cargo totaling over 1 billion tenge across the border. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Sputnik Kazakhstan.
According to the committee, such violations were committed between August 1 and 10 of this year. "The illegal transportation of goods and cargo worth over 1 billion tenge across the border was stopped," the committee said in a statement.
Specifically, 411 cases of illegal export of fuel and lubricants, as well as 140 cases of violation of the procedure for selling consumer goods, were identified. The perpetrators were brought to responsibility in accordance with the law.
These measures are being taken as part of strengthening border control. KNB officers conducted special operational-search activities to identify illegal transportation schemes. As a result, several major violations that could have caused significant damage to the country's economy were prevented.
The KNB urges citizens to strictly comply with legal requirements when crossing the border. If cases of illegal transportation are detected, the perpetrators will be held administratively or criminally liable in accordance with the legislation of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
