Kairat head coach Rafael Urazbakhtin briefly reacted to his team’s defeat to Astana in the 27th round of the Kazakhstan Premier League. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Kursiv Media.

A single word from the coach

At the post-match press conference, Urazbakhtin chose not to say much.

“I won’t talk much. I’ll say one word and go. ‘Shapito’. Thank you,” Urazbakhtin said.

The key episode of the match

Apparently, the Almaty side’s coach was unhappy with the refereeing. One of the key episodes of the match was the sending-off of Kairat midfielder Adilet Sadybekov as early as the 11th minute.

Sadybekov fouled Stanislav Basmanov near his own penalty area. Referee Denis Tevyashov initially showed the player a yellow card, but after a VAR review changed his decision and sent the player off. Three minutes later, Astana took advantage of the numerical superiority – Ramazan Karimov headed in a cross from Carlo Bartolec. That goal remained the only one in the game.

A second straight defeat for the reigning champion

For the reigning champion of Kazakhstan, the defeat was their second in a row – earlier, the Almaty side lost at home to Tobol 1:4.

The KPL table

After the matches of the 27th round, Ordabasy leads the KPL table with 61 points. Second-placed Kairat has 57 points. Astana sits third with 48 points.
