The Senate of the Parliament of Kazakhstan has adopted a law on the state border regime between Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Sputnik Kazakhstan.
The bill was presented by Senate deputy Alibek Nurgaliyev. The document regulates the procedure for crossing the border, staying in the border zone, and conducting economic activities. The law also establishes liability measures for violating the border regime.
As noted by Senate Chairman Maulen Ashimbayev, this law will contribute to strengthening friendly relations between the two states and developing cross-border cooperation. The law was developed in accordance with agreements on the delimitation and demarcation of the border between Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan.
The adoption of the document will strengthen trade and economic ties between the countries, as well as improve the quality of life for residents of border areas. The law includes the procedure for the operation of checkpoints, rules for conducting business activities in the border zone, and other important aspects.
Senate deputies unanimously supported the law. The document has been sent to the President of Kazakhstan for signature. After coming into force, the law will fully regulate the border regime between Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan.
