A small but growing body of research shows that GLP-1 drugs often used to treat obesity may also work for the disorder known as PMOS — not only by promoting weight loss but also by improving insulin resistance, hormone balance and ovulation. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Associated Press.

Charlotte Touzalin from Elizabeth, Colorado, participated in a PMOS study. Her mother, Anne Schultz, noticed improvements in her daughter's condition. Dr. Melanie Cree explained medical results to Noelani Schulmeister in a study using GLP-1 medication to treat PMOS.

Parents of participants and doctors say these drugs significantly alleviate PMOS symptoms. Research in this area is ongoing.
