During construction work on the territory of the former Pishchevik stadium in Semey, the bones of three people were found. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Sputnik Kazakhstan.
According to the head of the Abai regional construction department, Serik Tlemesov, the incident occurred about a month ago. The bones were discovered when the ground was being dug with an excavator.
"The head of the contracting organization contacted me and asked, 'What should we do?' Whether these are bones from a month or two ago, from 1980, or from 800 years ago, it is unknown," says Serik Tlemesov.
According to him, the remains do not belong to people who died recently. "Because here we have the bones of not one, but several people. Perhaps these are people buried during the famine years or during the war. If it were one person, one could assume a crime. Moreover, this stadium has existed since Soviet times. In my opinion, it is unlikely that a murderer would bring a body to the stadium and bury it," says the head of the construction department.
The regional police department confirmed that the bones of three people were found at the construction site. But it is too early to say who they belonged to.
"On July 9, during construction work on the territory of the former Pishchevik stadium in Semey, human bone remains were found. The found remains have been sent for examination to determine their origin and time of burial," the police department of the Abai region reported.
