In Semey, employees of the Ministry of Emergency Situations (MES) prevented a water accident by promptly providing assistance to a man who was in the river while intoxicated. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Kursiv Media.

The incident occurred during patrol of the communal beach "Zarya". Rescuers from the rapid response team noticed a man born in 1991, who was about 20 meters from the shore.

"The rescuers immediately brought the man to the shore. He did not require medical assistance," the MES reported.

The department reminded that alcohol consumption during water recreation significantly increases the risk of tragedy.

"Do not enter the water while intoxicated. Alcohol dulls attention, reduces reaction speed, and significantly increases the risk of water accidents. Follow safety rules and relax by the water responsibly," the MES urged.

Safety Measures

MES specialists emphasize the importance of following safety rules when relaxing by the water. Alcohol consumption dulls attention and reduces the ability to assess the situation, increasing the risk of drowning. Therefore, it is recommended not to drink alcohol before swimming.

Rescue Operation

The rescuers spotted the man 20 meters from the shore during patrol. They immediately reacted and brought him to the shore. No medical assistance was needed as the man's health was not in danger.

Statistics

Every year, most water accidents occur due to alcohol consumption. According to MES data, swimming while intoxicated increases the risk of tragedy several times. Therefore, following safety rules is extremely important.

Conclusion

This incident once again reminded of the need to follow safety precautions when relaxing by the water. Thanks to the timely actions of MES employees, a tragedy was avoided. The man did not require medical assistance, but this case should serve as a warning to all citizens.
