A 36-year-old man wanted after violating probation conditions was detained in Semey. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Polisia.kz.

According to police, the man was convicted of fraud on an especially large scale and was under probation control by court order. In January, he left his place of residence without permission and went into hiding.

The wanted man was detained by operatives with the participation of Semey police officers.

"As a result, the wanted man was detained and placed in the pre-trial detention center of Semey. In the near future, he will be escorted to Pavlodar," said Zhaslan Tanzhanov, head of the criminal police department of the Pavlodar region police department.

The police noted that after a person is put on the wanted list, alerts are sent to all territorial units and neighboring regions. Employees are given information about the appearance and identifying features of the wanted person.

Earlier, Kursiv reported that in Karaganda, a 78-year-old pensioner lost gold jewelry and 15 million tenge after three women convinced her to perform a ritual to remove an allegedly cast curse. The suspects — residents of Pavlodar, Almaty and the Zhetysu region — were detained in Temirtau; police are currently checking their possible involvement in similar crimes.
