A gas truck explosion and fire near a car wash in Semey has injured two people. One of them, a 45-year-old police officer, is in intensive care. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Kursiv Media.
According to Daryn Baktybayev, head of the department at Semey's emergency hospital, the police officer's condition is serious but stable. He was diagnosed with second- and third-degree burns, with about 25-30% of his body surface affected.

The second injured person is the driver of the gas truck. Both men were hospitalized after the incident.
The explosion occurred on the evening of September 22 near a car wash on Sosnovaya Street. According to preliminary data, a gas-air mixture ignited, after which the gas truck exploded. The fire engulfed the one-story car wash building and spread to two neighboring private houses.
One of the houses burned down completely. No people were inside at the time the roof collapsed. The second house was partially destroyed.
Witnesses told the TV channel that people began running away after the explosion. The cause of the fire is being established, and an examination has been ordered. A working group is calculating the amount of damage caused.
