In Semey, a man deliberately smashed a video camera and an intercom in the entrance of a residential building. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Sputnik Kazakhstan.

According to the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the resident who broke the intercom and camera in Semey was jailed for 20 days.

His actions were captured by a video surveillance camera.

"Police officers promptly identified the offender. He turned out to be a 48-year-old local resident. A medical examination confirmed that he had used narcotic substances," the statement said.

The man was held administratively liable for deliberately damaging property, committing petty hooliganism and using narcotic substances for non-medical purposes.

The court sentenced him to 20 days of administrative arrest.

Intercoms and video surveillance cameras are installed to ensure the safety of residents. Police say that a person who damages such common property will certainly face the law.
