The forest fire in the Semey State Forest Nature Reserve has been fully extinguished, the Ministry of Ecology reported. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Sputnik Kazakhstan.
"The forest fire registered on July 16, 2026 in the Kamyshenka forestry of the Semey Reserve was fully extinguished on July 28," the statement said.
Forces and resources of the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources, the Ministry of Emergency Situations and the Ministry of Defense were mobilized to extinguish the fire.
Earlier, the ministry reported that a total of 769 people, 191 units of ground equipment and 8 helicopters were involved in extinguishing the fire.
Since the start of firefighting, aviation has made 319 water drops, delivering 709 tons of water to the fire site.
The large forest fire that started on July 16 was contained on July 18 at 9:45 a.m.
